Even in the darkest shadows, there is always a glimmer of light. We just have to look for it.

As the day settled, Clovershine made her exit from the nursery, the days when her kits were resting were peaceful of course, but being the only queen in the nursery got rather lonely. Perhaps she needed someone to speak with? The clearing would be the perfect place to find such a cat, any cat.

Taking a glance at the fresh kill pile, Clovershine decided to skip out on an evening meal for today and flicked her ear almost dismissively of the thought of clamping down on a piece of prey, she would much rather chat to her clanmates and that is was she was on search for. Not prey, not quiet, Clovershine would love to converse instead of doing anything else so mundane.

When making her way into the clearing, she noticed a familiar speckled nose twitching in the clearing and let out a purr in greeting, flicking her striped tail to greet her clanmate. "Specklenose! How are you doing? Well?" The cream pointed queen asked, giving the tip of her tail another flick before sitting down beside Specklenose and wrapping the ringed tail over her paws.

"I've been aching for some chatter for a little while, got anything interesting to share?" Clovershine added light heartedly, a flash of playful amusement in her sky blue eyes.

 Not expecting the lynx point queen to be the one to come over, but happy nonetheless, Specklenose waved his tail in greeting. 'Hi Clovershine, I'm doing alright. Nothin' too much happening at the moment. Just enjoyed a good ol' snooze, and am ready for some touble' he added with a wink though really he would likely not do a thing. He instead would stay here and chat with Clovershine in peace, and be very much content with that. 

'How are the little rascals? I haven't really talked to them in a while. I ran into Dazzlekit the other day though. Little guy ran straight into me, yappin' about practicing warrior moves or something. Those three have got spirit, they will make strong apprentices' he purred, left ear twitching slightly, causing his ear tuft to wiggle slightly. He couldn't help but yawn again, eyes squeezing shut as he stretched is mouth, speckled nose wrinkling. Halfway through his yawn he paused, slowly turning to face Clovershine with a sheepish grin. 'I'm just tired, I promise I'm not bored of you already!' he said with a little lopsided smile.

Clovershine's eyes sparkled with amusement at Specklenose's easy going nature, a warm purr rumbling in her throat. She settled down beside him, tucking her paws neatly beneath her chest. "Oh I'm sure you'd be up for a bit of trouble" She teased, her whisker's twitching. "But a peaceful chat sounds nice too, especially on a nice day like this" 

Her gaze softened at the mention of her kits, pride swelling in her chest. "They're as spirited as ever" Clovershine replied with a fond smile, thinking of how her kittens were doing and saying what first popped up in her mind. "Dazzlekit has been talking non-stop about being an apprentice, and no less a warrior. He keeps trying to sneak up on his brothers, claiming it is some sort of training" She chuckled. "Redkit and Murkkit are no better. They're always tumbling over each other, trying to prove who is the strongest. They have so much energy, it's a wonder they don't tire themselves out" she meowed, though how she worded her sentences would sound of complaints, her tone and relaxation and you in her eyes showed nothing but affection for her kits, enjoying their antics more than anything.

Clovershine watched Specklenose yawn, her own tail curling around her as she laughed softly. "It's nothing to worry about Specklenose. Kits or no kits, keeping up with them can be exhausting" She stated, still with the same fondness as her prior statements, no matter how much energy her kits exhibited, she wouldn't trade them for any amount of prey in the clans. "But I'm glad you're taking time to rest, we all need it after all, some more than others" 

Her eyes brightened as she thought of something. "Maybe you should visit the nursery one of these days" She suggested playfully "I bet they'd love to hear some your stories, and maybe you can teach them a thing or two about warrior moves. They're always looking for someone to impress"

  'Nice to hear they are going well. I'll be sad to see the nursery empty once they become apprentices, kits always add a little light to camp that no one else can bring. Lucky for me, and maybe lucky for you, they still have a whole moon left in there! Dunno how you do it though. I think I would go insane sleeping with kits everynight.' they said, their gaze now looking towards the nursery, hoping to see a peek of a kit. At that moment, Dazzlekit's head poked out for a second before he ran back in, yelling something to one of his brothers. Specklenose purred at the kitten, shaking his head slightly before giving Clovershine a fond look. 'They make me feel old, yet I'm not even a year older than them!'

The silver warrior rested their chin on a paw, having outstretched themsleves to lie next to Clovershine. 'Hardly done anything all day yet here I am yawning after a sleep! But, I guess you are right, resting every now and then can't hurt.'

Clovershine had mentioned visiting the kits, which interested Specklenose. He had seen them a few times over the moons, but hardly ever directly visited them. In his spare time it would be a nice idea to go visit the future of the clan. 'Perhaps, though I'm not sure I'm the best influence. My stories involve sneaking into ThunderClan territory and doing what I'm told not to do' they said with a laugh. 'I'll end up squishing one of 'em, trying to show them a move but end up tripping over. But I'll go see them over the next few days. Call me over when they've got too much energy. I know just the way to burn it off.'

Clovershine's eyes softened, her tail curling neatly around her loafed body as she listened. "I know what you mean Specklenose" she murmured, a gentle smile tugging at her lips. As much as she will miss the rambunctious misadventures of her kittens in the nursery, she knew that she would still have the clan around to have their company, and she would still be able to see her kittens on occasion when they weren't fussed with training is what-not. "The nursery always feels so full of life, and it will be strange not to be in there when Dazzlekit, Murkkit and Redkit become apprentices. But I wouldn't trade these moons for anything. They may be a pawful at times, but they bring me so much joy."

She let out a light laugh, watching as Dazzlekit's red, striped head popped out and then disappeared back into the nursery, probably to roll around in a pile with his brothers undoubtably. "Oh they certainly keep me on my toes, that's for sure!" Clovershine chuckled. "But there's just something special about watching them grow, even if it means a few sleepless nights. And hey, at least I know every day will be filled with their laughter and misadventures" The queen's voice didn't seem to be disheartened, but more encouraging and hopefully more uplifting than a queen that would be saddened about her kittens growing up, it was unavoidable after all.

Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she nudged Specklenose playfully. "I think your stories will be perfect for them honestly! They'll get a kick out of them if you make sure they know that following that would be cause for consequence" Clovershine meowed, giving the tip of her tail a short flick, she knew she would eventually get around to that lesson herself, but it was never too late to have her kits learn it from a warrior that actually experienced those consequences. "And don't worry about squishing them, they're tougher than they look, and they aren't the size of underfed mice anymore, don't forget they'll be apprentices before you know it" 

The lynx pointed queen then added with a grin, letting out a small snicker with the air she breathed out from her nose. "I'll definitely call you over when they're bouncing of the walls. I'm sure they'd love a little play sparring session with you. Besides, it'll do us both good to remember what it's like to be young and carefree again" Clovershine's eyes soon trailed away for a moment, but she flicked her ear to dismiss any thought of sadness that might cloud her thoughts. "Anyway-" She added, turning her gaze towards Specklenose "How's hunting been going in the territory? As good as we can get this close to leaf-bare I'd guess"

 'Hunting has actually been quite good, though I guess the cold is yet to hit us. I'm hoping for no snow and little storms, otherwise things might get a little hard. The last leafbare I experienced I was still a kit, or perhaps just made an apprentice. I can't really remember, but I know that Pebbleshine shielded me a lot, for leafbare can be nasty for the little ones. I'm not exactly sure what to expect, but I'm not looking forward to it that's for sure!'

The silver feline feigned a shiver, grateful for their long pelt, as without it the upcoming weather would be even worse. At least for now the air was still warm and the sun still shined. Specklenose stretched their paws out again, scrunching up their face before making their way to stand up. 'I'm a little peckish, want to share a meal?' they asked, flashing Clovershine a small smile. 'You can call the kiddos over too. I'll tell some sort of story while we all eat'
